my 5.1 speakers work with TV, but not with movies in USB connected to my TV. Please help

I have attached normal 5 channel speakers with my LG TV with the help of Digital to Analog converter, since my TV has only optical output. I am getting good sound from TV channels. But whenever I connect USB drive in my TV with HD movies, i do not get any sound from attached speakers. Can someone guide/help?

What type of movies you are playing? if those are HD movies with DTS then i am sure your TV dont support DTS audio you have to convert it to AC3 or other audio formats

Same issue here wit my onida HDTV. External speakers not working when playing through tv USB. Please suggest if you solved
