Plug in a usb keyboard and see if you can type it in like that. Your laptop keyboard connection / keyboard unit is proberly faulty

You must have a key stack on keyboard and active type continuous that will fill the text area.

Fix it for you if you are in UK will cost you 45£

Remove the keyboard using the proper method for your PC (GoogleFTW) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_94Y0miO45U then plug in a USB keyboard then power it up. Your probably just dealing with a stuck key and just pop'ing the keys out can help.
