Solution
It can be a sound set up to run on the laptop. It happens. Sometimes even programs can set it up that way.

Have you tried....

1. Right click on the desktop and then click "Personalize".

2. In this new window click "Sounds" on the bottom of the window.

3. In the window that opens up, search for any sound associated with the lid closing and also the computer shutting off. It could be under a few different areas. Like in the "Windows" section the sound could be attached to "Windows Logoff" or even "System Notification". You will have to do some looking around to find the right sound/option.

OR

4. In this same window, you can click on the "Drop Down" button under "Sound Scheme" and select "No Sounds". This will let you play sounds...

5. Once you are all done either turning them all off, or changing the sounds you want to change, then click "Apply" at the bottom of the window and then click "OK".

6. Close both windows and you should be good.
