my acer laptop runing on xp there is no sound icon hence the computer not produecing any sound at all please help allso i dont

i dont have the original disc to the computer as i think the sound card is either on its own or part of the mother board,as there is no sound icon i think it just needs to be reinstalled but how as i dont have the disc, so it needs it to be done one of two ways,please help

Do you have any audio driver? Like Realtek audio? or the built in audio drivers?
