My Asus laptop is stuck on the sign in screen

My laptop won't let me sign in. WiFi is lit up in the bottom right corner but the "power?" (Circle with a vertical line through the top) and 3\4 broken lined one in the centers arent ? Sorry I'm not too computer savvy. Any ideas

Does you computer get to the windows login screen? If it does what is preventing you from logging in? Is the computer frozen or does the laptop not accept your password?

It seems to be frozen. I can move the mouse around but it doesn't respond when I click on Sign In

Have you tried doing a hard shutdown on your computer? To do a hard shutdown hold the power button down for 10-15 seconds, then let go and let the computer rest for 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.

Yay it worked..and it also fixed my other problem of no volume. Thank you
