Solved! My Asus Laptop Only Shows A Black Screen

My Asus ux490u laptop powers on but the display won't show anything but a black screen. I tried putting a flash against the screen but the is no image, meaning the backlight isn't broken. I plugged an external monitor and everything works fine but the main laptop display still shows only black. Does anybody have an answer to this? Also can't open up the computer because of the warranty...

The backlight might not be but the display might just gave out. Since you have a Warranty, I would suggest shipping it to them and let them deal with the issue.

They are correct. If the external works it is likely the display or the cable that attaches it. Better than it being the GPU. Contact the manufacturer. Better to fix it now, while they will pay for it!
