I know there's a lot of these threads around, but I just need to confirm or refute some evidence that I have.
The power button is not functioning reliably on my Asus X751L laptop. I say reliably because sometimes I can turn it on by holding it for a minute or so, sometimes it can be turned on by moving the screen panel while holding it, etc. but most of the time, it can't turn on.
This leads me to believe that the problem is with some hardware to the power button like the internal cable or something like that.
-the charging cable works fine.
-the battery works fine when it is on. (the battery is not external, so i would need to open the computer to get it out.)
- The OS works fine when it's on.
- no problems with the hard drive or the BIOS (which tells me the motherboard is fine)
tell me what you think. is it a problem with the connections? or something else.
