Changing the area where Google first searches.
My company is based in Chicago, and when I do a Google search for anything it searches Chicago first. How can I make it searc

1. Go to Google
2. Search for anything like "lol" for example
3. Below the search bar there should be something called a "Search Tool"
4. Click on it and it will give you searching options which you can alter.

Hi spencer419
when you type in something to search for and it searches chicago , at the top of the google screen is a series of tabs ,
click on search tools , search worldwide

Welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums!

It's great that everything starts in Chicago! :)

However, when I want to search in a specific location like the West Coast I type in "Bay Area, plumbers" or something like that. Now my results will be centered around the Bay Area. Similarly "Eastern US jewelers" or whatever you are searching for.

For best results try and localize the search as much as you can.
