You can try updating the firmware. Go to Nikon's website, connect the D90 body to the computer via a USB cable, and update the firmware if applicable. If it is a firmware issue this will fix it.

You may also check Nikon's user forums, and post a question there. I found this useful in the past.

If it is a component failure within the D90 body, the body will need repairs.
