Solved! My external dvd drive is not recognized

Hello,
I ve a samsung N148 laptop. I want to reinstall the os. It doesnt ve an internal dvd drive. So i m using external dvd drive. My external dvd drive is not recognized in tat laptop. It is not even recognized n my dell too. Help me with this!!!

Is the drive brand new? If it is, I'd return it and buy another one (different brand if possible). If not, try re-installing the drivers via the drive maker's support site.
