My firestick is plugged into hdmi1 but there’s no hdmi 1 on the tv, only video 1

It's not clear whether your TV lacks an HDMI input or you can't access HDMI 1?
If it doesn't have HDMI at all you would need an active HDMI to AV converter to use a firestick.
If you don't know how to access HDMI 1 I would suggest you give the Firestick a minute to boot up and then cycle through the inputs on the TV with the remote. You should see the home screen of the Firestick when you get to the correct input.
Without the TV remote you would need to have controls on the TV itself to change inputs.
