my google chrome and internet explorer are not responding. how could i fix this issues

My google chrome and internet explorer are not displaying on my Laptop. when i double click on google chrome going to google page and when I type any thing on google showing message saying this page cannot be displayed. i have tried very hard but there is not chance.

First of all make sure you have an internet connection.

You can open a command prompt and type "nslookup www.yahoo.com"
If you do not get an IP address back then you have an internet problem.
If you do get an IP address back then you likely have a virus.

Once you've got a chance to open your browser, you may try optimizing them by clearing the cache and cookies including the browsing history. You may also need to reset or re-install your browsers. But it's best if you check first the status of your internet connection.
