my home theater dosent have sound

i have a sony tv and when i put speaker on home theatre it dosent work,
please help me

Are you watching TV from your cable box? Or are you connecting the TV to your computer? if so tell us about the wires you have used to make the connection.

no just one time i use the HDMI cable for my laptop

check that your TV, Laptop, and receiver(?) are capable of audio over the HDMI cable? the laptop is using the hdmi digital audio device?
