My huaweill keeps saying please confirm update before updating and I configure it keeps saying the same thing

Is this a phone system update or an app update? If a system update, is it showing in "Settings" or just showing up on your screen as a popup?

If it is not showing in settings, but only as a popup, it may not actually be a real update and can be a virus or malware.

Tom its a system updat like the phone to be updated but it says in setting

Name isn't Tom but that is OK. If it is located in the phone's "Settings" then "About Phone" then "System Update" or just "Settings" and then "System Update" it should work, as long as you have either "Data" or a "WiFi" connection. However, if it is not listed in either of these locations, or you don't have "Data" or "WiFi" on that device, then the update won't work.
