My laptop cursor is not working

Hello,

My casor is not responding when i click the icons but it is moving on my screen. Guys what should i do?

This is a bit vauge, at this point it could be hardware, software, or alot newer laptops have on/of switches for touch pads. HP put's there's in the top left corner(of touch pad) a quick double tap turns it off and on. Some laptops even have on/off buttons. If this is not the case we need more information, have you tired restarting the computer, also have you tried hooking up a usb mouse to the computer, does that still work? Have u tired going and getting the newest software for your touch pad and reinstalling it? How old is your laptop? What Make and model is your laptop?

Some ideas for you to consider, if nothing works give some more info and I will try to help.
