My laptop screen is broken and won't connect to my TV via hdmi

My acer aspire V5-571 is not connecting to my TV via and HDMI cable. My screen has been broken for quite a while and has done this before but I can't remember how I fixed it. As my screen is broken (I'm too broke to get a new one) I was wondering if there was anyway I could do it via the keyboard? Please help

I think Fn + F5 refreshes/switches the display for Acer's. Take a look at your keyboard, one of the Fn keys will look like a little monitor.
