My Lenovo T440 powering on then dies after a few seconds. It all started when I would plug my charger in and then the power indicator led would keep flashing but the laptop would not charge. Then the battery got so low and it still would not charge. I looked up the problem online and saw someone said to try unplugging the batter and have the laptop connected to only AC power and turn the laptop on which all worked. But then it said to try going and deleting the ac battery driver and then plugging restarting the laptop while having the battery in again. This now causes my laptop to turn on and then go to a black screen and has a 0190 error and then turn off.

Any help would be appreciated

Hi,

Since the laptop would work fine while connected directly to its AC adapter, that could mean that the problem is with the battery itself. Here are some other troubleshooting steps that may help.
- While the laptop is on (without the battery) and connected directly to its AC adapter, connect the battery back in and see if it will charge and stay on.
- Then try to uninstall/reinstall the battery driver again. While the laptop is on (with the battery in) go to Device Manager and uninstall the battery driver then reboot the laptop and it should reinstall the driver automatically.
- If all these will not work I would suggest replacing the battery already.
