My Lenovo u400 laptop won't recognise my tv through hdmi

I hooked up my laptop to my Samsung Tv using hdmi cable but can't get my laptop to recognise my tv as second display. Any fix for this?

Go to the graphics driver settings, and set the resolution to 1366 x 768, and there will be an option for a 2nd display and how you would like it to behave (mirrored, etc).
