My Nikon coolpix l840 shuts off while recording

please help! It has new batteries and I know there is the 28 min time limit for recording which seems odd but it shut off at 10 minutes and it had plenty of memory. I just don't see why it stops recording and shuts down

Here's a few possible reasons:
1) You camera is overheating
2) You are using a high quality recording mode that hits 2/4gb earlier than the 29:59 limit
3) You need to see if there are firmware updates
