My old Android phone is broke and won't turn on how do I retrieve my old photos now

My old Android phone is broke and I cannot power it up to retrieve my old photos how do I go from here

Try removing the battery and connecting it to a PC using a USB lead and see if that can power the 'phone and allow data transfers.
