My phone, that is LG L40 mobile, will not let me factory reset. Whenever I try, it just does nothing. It also keeps saying "Keyboard has stopped"- and my keyboard doesnt work. My last issue is that whenever I restart the phone, it will be in czech, but I have always had it in English.

I am scared to tell my dad as he will probably just yell at me I destroy everything and wont really help me anyway. I cant get it into the store, since replacement or repairment is not for free and I dont have money for that.

Any tips on what I can do?

Well perhaps you are doing the reset incorrectly. It happens a lot. It is possible there is something on the phone that shouldn't be, which would explain it acting so odd.

Try a "Hard Reset" and see if that resolves it...

NOTE: Doing this will clear 'all' the data on your phone, so it is suggested you not choose this option unless you have to, or aren't worried about losing anything on the device.

Be sure you back up any data you want to keep, to a computer or cloud account, before doing the reset.

To "Hard Reset" the phone...

1. Make sure that the phone is actually powered off.

2. Remove your SD card, if there is one in the device.

3. Press the "Power" and the "Volume Up" buttons, together, until you see the start-up logo on the screen.

4. Once you can see the logo, release the buttons and allow the device to enter the "System Recovery Mode".

5. Next use "Volume Down" button to get to the "wipe data/factory reset" option.

6. When in recovery mode the "Volume Up" and "Volume Down" buttons are how to can navigate and highlight what option you need.

7. Once you have selected the "wipe data/factory reset", press the "Power" button to select that option.

8. On the following screen, repeatedly press the "Volume Down" button until the "Yes - delete all user data" option is what is selected.

9. Then press the "Power" button to hard reset the phone.

10. If you took your SD card out in step 2, when the device is up and running again, reinsert the SD card.

That is a 5 year old low end phone, even if it won't work properly, that is not a big deal. Cheap stuff fails often, don't worry too much about it if you can't restore it and if it has issues. My son is on his 3rd phone in 2 years, first one was even higher end than yours but still cheap, and died fully under normal use. Second one was a drop, but that is also "normal", that is why kids generally get $100-200 phones and not new high end $500 ones.

Thank You, it worked, except my keyboard is still dead. I tried cleaning cache, force stopping, really anything I could do, but I still get notification "Unfortunately, LG Keyboard has stopped."
