My son has an HP laptop. The power button got smashed into the laptop. Is this repairable? Is there a way he can still turn on

The power button on my son's HP laptop got smashed in. Now he isn't even able to turn it on. Is this fixable? Is there a way it can be turned on without using the button?

That button is only the intermediary between your finger and the actual micro switch that turns the machine on and off.

If you or your son can carefully fish out the remains of the button using a needlle, you can safely touch the micro switch using a pencil.
