My toshiba tecra m1 is saying insert system disk in drive what does that mean?


This implies the laptop is trying to boot from a network device. Sounds like you have no OS installed.

This old rig is not going to run modern Windows versions, well. It is too under-powered.

You might be able to install a lite version of Linux and get acceptable performance. Windows XP (very dated and obsolete for many reasons) would also perform okay.

Thank you mate I appreciate that it has a Windows XP sticker and code I will get a disc don’t think will be expensive
In your opinion have I bought a crock be honest thanks again for advice
