my turtle beach x12 headset doesn't have a mic icon

i have a turtle beach X12 headset and i just bought it brand new off of amazon and the audio works wonderfully however im a youtuber so the mic is an important part of the headset but when i go into my control panel my computer doesnt pick up my headset is plugged in all thats there is my internal mic and nothing else in the recording/mic category its wont sync to my computer and i dont know how to fix it or get it to connect to my computer

if anyone knows how to fix please respond

Try plugging it in to a different usb port this happens to me with Skype.
