Solved! My usb ports quit working,

my usb ports on my prresario v6000 quit working, family members have tried everything including clearing out everything on my laptop, added windows 7 and got rid of vista, anything i plug into them its not recognizing. its very hard playing my fb games without a mouse. its saying that my drivers are fine. What can i do, and can these be repaired.

Try heading to HP-Compaq's support site and download/install the latest chipset for your particular model. Doing so will reset the USB controllers. If it doesn't work, I suspect that there is something wrong with the laptop hardware wise, i.e. something has went faulty on the motherboard.
