I think it's fascinating. A molecule of water is a molecule of water; whether in a vast ocean or mildly dampening a plot of dust. Water = possibilities. It may help us learn where Earth's water came from since the moon is virtually unchanged since the debris that formed it were ejected from our own planet billions of years ago when earth collided with a Mars-sized body. The Moon makes a lot of sense in terms of the further exploration of space. It would be easier to take off from there. Start up costs would be huge but in the centuries to follow the benefits would be great. Earth is finite space is virtually infinite. Our future depends on our ability to find a new hospitable planet and have the technology to get there. Wouldn't we be better off trying at least?
