Hey guys. My sister has a toshiba satellite l550-11c laptop and since it's getting overheated without that "laptop cooler" I want to buy one for her birthday. I don't really know what those things are called, but can you recommend me a good "laptop cooler"? thanks in advance

They are called "laptop cooling pads" and you can find them in many places, including Amazon.

The highest rated one for 17" laptops (like that Toshiba) at Amazon is the Cooler Master NotePal X-Slim, and it is not even $20.

It only uses one fan, but gets power from USB and has a pass through port. If you need a lot of serious airflow, its bigger brother is the Cooler Master NotePal X3, which is also available through Amazon (and others) for $40.

The X3 uses a bigger fan with a set of blue LEDs and has a speed controller.

Good luck!

I had a serious case of "shut-down by overheating" not having any money I could only afford a usb drivin, 3 fan, light show from a giant internet retailer($6)ha ha, so that didn't work, while vacuuming my apartment I got the brilliant idea to take the hose "while exhausting" and blow out the heat sink by putting the nozzle up to the fan. It worked, not once has my 7 year old Toshiba dinosaur shut off in the middle of something. And It now greets me when I use it!
