need a new phone

I'm looking for a good all around phone with great connection and is Sim based (I'm a t mobile user). it needs to have at least 12 hours of battery life under heavy use and maybe like 20 idle. i play a lot of games and stuff and find myself using my phone all day. it doesn't have to be a flag ship phone I'm not looking to spend much more then 400 at max 500 but at least carry a decent camera. also is there a difference between receivers like does one phone get more bars then others because i move a lot and find it hard to get connections sometimes.

The thing I'd be concerned about with HTC phones is that they have extremely terrible cameras and this is coming from someone who owns one now.
