I want an excellent gaming laptop that will play World of Warcraft exceptionally well, but can also handle some more graphic intensive games too should I decide to give them a try. I've been doing a ton of research, looking at everything from Alienware m17x, Dell Studio XPS 16, an HP laptop, and some of the Asus models that seem to be out of stock in many places.
Below is the information from the FAQ:
1_What is your budget?
I can spend up to $2,000, but I would prefer to keep it to around $1600-1700 if possible.
2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
I probably want a large screen, at least 15 inches and up to 17.
3_What screen resolution do you want?
I usually play at home on my desktop at 1920x1080 so something similar.
4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
I'd prefer desktop replacement. The laptop will probably never be on my lap.
5_How much battery life do you need?
I don't care about battery life at all, not even the slightest.
6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
I want to play World of Warcraft maxed out, or pretty close to it. It's not nearly as graphics intensive as modern games, but I want to make sure it runs smoothly and not choppy with shadows on, weather detail, and everything relatively high.
7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing,watching movies, Etc.)
I watch movies, surf the internet, and play WoW. I don't do much else other than that and use Excel and office tools for work.
8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?
Storage isn't incredibly important for me so I usually go with the lowest option in customizable systems unless their is a significant value in upgrading for minimal price.
10_How long do you want to keep your laptop?
Probably 2-3 years at least. If my tastes change at a later date, I'll adjust accordingly and get a new laptop in a few years.
11_What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
Just a standard DVD/CD burner.
12_Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
I've read some bad and mixed reviews about the Alienware laptops, mostly poor reviews of the m15x but decent reviews of the m17x. I also don't really like HP laptops because I have witnessed some bad experiences with them previously and tend to think of them as more of a printer company rather than for computers.
13_What country do you live in?

The Dell Studio XPS 16 looks kind of slick and dpesn't have a terrible price point either. How good is the 1GB ATI Radeon 4760m for Warcraft, in general, and would I need anything better than that?
