Hi.
My PC was died last month. I'm giving up to repair it, because it has very strange problems.
The problem that I'm talking about can be seen here:
http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3318193/aging-underpowered-broken-psu.html
It's an old Core2 Quad system with 6GB of ram and GTX960 on it.

I primary use my desktop PC to do my school work, play games nonstop (CS:GO, FSX, BF1, BF4, NFS, and other heavy games), making graphic illustration, and video editing or animation rendering.

I'm a student but also a graphic designer as my side job. So I need a good laptop with good GPU and processor but also have a long battery life and lightweight (6-7hrs is decent for me, and the weight should not over 2-3kg). I prefer full metal design, since it's more durable than plastic chassis and I'm not interested at gaming oriented notebooks. I don't need fancy RGB leds and mech keyboard, what I need is a laptop that can replace my old desktop. Screen should be 15 inch to 16 inch, and planning to triple monitor with 2 ipads mounted on right and left.

My target specs is:
"faster than my desktop or in par with it"

But it seems impossible because i7 6500u it's a dual core chip with HT, 35w TDP. i7 6700hq is quad core chip but 45w TDP. With hq chip I can't get best battery life but with U chip I must sacrifice a processing power. Seems a dilemma for me.

I'm currently looking at
1. ASUS k501ub ~ i7 6500u/8GB/1TB/24GB SSD/NVIDIA 940M/15'6 inch. 2kg weight
2. ASUS k401ub ~ i7 6500u/8GB/1TB/24GB SSD/NVIDIA 940M/14 inch. 2kg weight
-add $50 more-
3. ASUS k401uq ~ i7 6500u/8GB/1TB/24GB SSD/NVIDIA 940Mx/14 inch. 2kg weight
-add $350 more-
4. MSI PE60 prestige ~ i7 6700hq/4GB/1TB/NVIDIA 960M/15'6 inch. 5kg weight

I live in Indonesia. My budget is around $1020 or IDR 10.000.000

Help me decide, any opinions are appreciated!
Thanks.

EDIT:
I edited the title. To avoid confusion and make the advice more relevant to me.

If it was me, I would go with the MSI. It has the stronger processor ( I know you mentioned it would have lower battery life, but if you are using as a desktop replacement, then you want strong) and it has the better video card, much better. I'd buy it and just upgrade the RAM to about 16gb and maybe throw in an SSD at some point.

I also need portability, that's why I said it should be lightweight and have a good battery life.

Can always build a desktop with more performance and cheaper than a laptop. Portability is the only thing a laptop has going for it imo. Plus laptop has limited upgradeability.

That's why I prefer unibody metal chassis. Its more durable. But hard to upgrade, because i'm not planning to upgrade it.

I'm just balancing between the portability and power to suits my need now. But its hard.

I also found some ASUS x550vx for under $1000.
It has i7 6700HQ and gtx 950m or 960m with 8GB ddr4 ram. But I don't like its battery life, plastic chassis and 1024x768 TN panel. Should I go for this or pick the K501ub with i7 6500u and gt940m but longer battery life, 1080p screen, and metal body?

I need portability, durability. But performance cannot be sacrificed.

The depends on if you want power or portability. If power is what you want then the i7 - 6700hq is good. To get over the screen you can use external monitors if it is available. As for the plastic chassis, you can't do anything, If battery life is what you want then the i7 - 6500u is good but it does have its limits if used professionally.
