Hello. I'm looking for a laptop which will be used for office (Word, PowerPoint) and moderate gaming (StarCraft 2, CS Go, Battlefield).

My requirements are: 17' inch model (preferable IPS screen) with a decent CPU, minimum 8 GB RAM, both HDD and SSD, dedicated graphics.

By the way, Intel CPU U series are enough for my needs?

Right now I've found this two pretty close for me:
https://www.asus.com/us/Laptops/ROG-GL753VD/

http://www3.lenovo.com/au/en/laptops/home/300-series/Id...

Regarding budget, it depends on the market.. in my region ROG GL753VD is priced around 1200 euro (vs IdeaPad 320 which is almost 800 euro), so let's say that's my limit.

Any specific recommendations?

Thanks a lot!

I would say that the asus is very good depending on which battlefield you are talking about. Also there will be a refresh of the dell 15 7000 series gamer with an ips, I don't know when it will come out though. Most likely when they introduce the alienware with max q design.

17 inch laptops are quite expensive, I'm not sure if you can get a good one at that price point. I recommend 15-inch laptops as the size difference is not that noticeable. Here are my suggestions:

1) Dell XPS 15 (with GTX 1050)
2) Dell Insipiron 7559 (with GTX 1050 Ti)
3) Acer VX-series 15-inch (with GTX 1050)

U-series processors are enough for Word and PPT and Starcraft 2 and CS:Go but not for Battlefield. I suggest anything i5-6300HQ or higher.

The one I will link is better than the Asus in most aspects. The link for the Lenovo is not working. This is my current laptop (although mine is TN. This is IPS) http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/serviceselection/dncwf510s . It is great and I play Overwatch at 60fps in almost everything on ultra with a very good temp of 60C under load (provided you have a quite cold room and good airflow for the laptop). You can also upgrade the SSD and HDD to a faster and/or larger one although I find the current ones fine. It is a bit heavy and thick if you care about that tho.
U should definitely take a HQ version if you want to play games in the level of Battlefield.
It is 15" tho.

Both laptops have received very good reviews. The only real complaint about the Dell Inspiron 7000 (7569) is that it was initially released it had a pretty bad TN panel screen and no option to configure it with an IPS screen which has much better viewing angles.

If you prefer better game performance, then buy the Dell Inspiron 15 because it has the GTX 1050 Ti. If you want portability and you are willing to sacrifice game performance, then buy the Dell XPS 15. Below are reviews for both laptops.

Dell Inspiron 15 7567 - With a TN panel screen, Dell offered the IPS panel screen more recently.
