Hi,guys!
So i was thinking of buying a laptop but i have difficulties choosing one. I'm gonna use it basically for some average programs and applications and of course for gaming. Don't misunderstand me, i'm not a game maniac, i just play in my free time for fun. But that doesn't mean that i'm not gonna play games like AC, BF and others like this. So i'm open for suggestions, but here are the main two laptops that have caught my eye:
ACER V5-573G-54218G1TAKK :
Aluminum body
DISPLAY 15.6" (39.6 CM) HD LED ANTI-GLARE
CPU INTEL® CORE™ I5-4210U 3M CACHE, UP TO 2.70 GHZ
RAM 8 GB DDR3
HDD HYBRID 1TB 5400RPM SSHD 8G
VIDEO NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 850M 4GB
HD WEBCAM, HDMI, 2XUSB2.0+1XUSB3.0
DOLBY® DIGITAL HOME THEATER V4 AUDIO
OS FREE DOS
4 Caged LI-POLYMER Baterry, 6.5 h
Weight 2.4 KG

Asus X550JK-XO058D:

Intel Core i5-4200H (2.8GHz up to 3.4GHz, 3MB),
15.6" HD (1366x768) LED Anti-Glare,
Web Cam,
8GB DDR3 1600MHz,
1TB HDD,
nVidia GeForce GTX850M 2GB DDR3L,
DVD+/-RW, 802.11n, BT 4.0,
Free DOS, Dark Gray

There is a slight price difference. The acer normally costs 100$ more than the asus, but it's on discount so it costs around 60$ less.(btw my BUDGET is around 600-650$)
So, I'll be really happy if you guide me. I don't want to miss the discount, but I don't want to rush and get some shit that I'll regret either. Thank you forwards :)

Solution
The primary difference between the two laptops is the CPU. The Core i5-4210u has a base clockspeed of 1.7GHz and can turbo boost up to 2.7GHz but it only consumes 15w of power. the Core i5-4200H is a more powerful CPU because the base clockspeed is 2.8GHz and can turbo boost up to 3.4GHz, but it consumes 47w of power.

The power consumption difference means the i5-4200h will generate more heat and is more prone to potentially run hot compared to the i5-4210u. It also means much less battery life. However, the i5-4200h should provide better gaming performance in games that are CPU intensive.

Solution
The acer's my favourite because of the reasons you mentioned, because it has aluminum body and it's cheaper. But here's the thing that concerns me - this model of acer is released in the second half of 2014, but the asus is released in the beginning of this year. So my question is which one would be still useful as a decent laptop in the next few years ?

Both CPU are 4th generation Haswell CPUs. The only difference is the clockspeed and power consumption. If they were clocked at the same speed they would perform the same.

If you want a laptop that can technically last you longer in terms of performance, then you want the Asus. But you will give up battery life and the laptop will potentially run hotter.
