Hello all:

My laptop stopped working so I'm buying a new one and it has to been soon as I need my laptop for work. I use my laptop for djing using traktor while I handle tons of music in my hard drive and for some light gaming, as I already own an xbox one but there are some decent PC games I would like to try out like Sims 4, Civilizations, DayZ, etc. I'm not expecting to play them in high settings, but good low-to-medium settings for 30fps. But like I said, gaming is not a priority. After looking online, the best laptop I could find are these 2:

Lenovo Z50
http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/...

Intel® Core™ i7-4510U Processor (2.0 turboboost 3.0)
8 GB DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce 820M 2GB
Resolution: 1920 x 1080 pixels
1TB + 8GB Solid State Hybrid Drive
DVD
Have a fan at the bottom and at the side

Dell Inspiron 15 5000
http://www.dell.com/uk/p/inspiron-15-5548-laptop/pd?oc=...

5th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-5500U Processor (4M Cache, 2.0 up to 3.00 GHz)
8 GB DDR3
ATI Radeon R7 M270 4GB
Resolution: 1366 x 768 (about 80% sure is like that)
1TB 5400 rpm SATA Hybrid Hard Drive
NO DVD
NO Fan at the side

In case you are wondering, I dj with my MIDI controller and if I use CDJS, its probably CDJS 2000 which you can insert USBs, so I wouldnt burn music to be able to play. But not having a dvd feels like a downer, just the fact of not being able to burn anything. Also, I point out the fan because I've heard a lot about Dell overheating problems when gaming, so I see it as a negative not having a side fan. Although the dell is slightly more powerful, im kinda bummed out not having DVD or no extra side fan.

Any expert advice will surely be appreciated, as I wanna make the best choice.

Thanks.

L.

you are very good

Each one plays off advantages with disadvantages to hit a certain price target. I'd suggest a no compromise solution by finding a Clevo distributor and having them custom build you your specs

If you like to game, you should choose the Lenovo one. I think with that graphics card you can run GTA 5 on low around 30 fps. You can also run newer need for speed games at high.

But If I was you, I would not spend money on an i7 processor. Instead would get an good i5 and decent graphics card like GTX 750ti or 900 series...
