Ok. There ya have it.

I am not a gamer (although that's mainly due to the fact that I don't have time - I actually really miss my xBox 360), I am not editing photos or videos or recording music - although I certainly have the skillset for it, its just that I'm pursuing something else at the moment.

I am a full time student and want to use this device to take notes in class with - annotate PDFs etc. I'm a computer science and engineering/statistics student so, I'll be doing a fair bit of coding (into the wee hours) and compiling on this machine. Of course all of your normal word document editing, power point stuff applies as well. This will be my only device and I'll be carrying it a lot. I'll be pulling it out of my backpack every chance I get - flipping it around and taking notes on my lap or on a table/desk. It will also be my main source of entertainment - movies, youtube, web surfing, games, etc. (time allowing). This will also be my first windows machine - I've been mac since day one.

Any advice on which model might be best - and opinions of features - what's worth it, what's not - would be excellent.

Thanks!
-GK

Solution
Those systems are very different, any of them will run what you want.

You have a pricy X1 system which is a premium model with fancy construction, the P40 has a glossy touch screen, all have different video cards but none are really good for games except maybe the Yoga 14 with the 940m video card.

If you don't care about the glossy screen, the P40 is probably the best for working with programs like CAD. They are really all different enough that it's hard to compare them equally.
