Need help deciding on what to do.

Hi,
My step sister has a Macbook Pro from 2008 but the screen burned and to repair it, it will cost as much a buying an equivalent one. The laptop that I am aiming for is this one http/

But then I decided doing some research on the Macbook and it looks like it has better hardware specs than Acer. What would you go for, buying a new laptop or repairing an old one (It works 100%, the only problem is the screen at the moment)?

Also she uses it only to play Minecraft, watch Youtube videos and Skype.

Lol, I picked your answer as a solution oh well... My budget is the price of that Acer. I posted the link to it.

You can get something better for about the same price as that Acer, but I don't know what the exact specs are in said MacBook. And honestly, Macs offer a great build quality that will outshine that Acer. The screen repair/replacement might be worth it.

In Iceland there aren't many variety of laptops with these prices and buying from the internet is a bad idea in my opinion.

The Acer certainly has more powerful hardware than the MBP you have. If you haven't used Windows 8(.1) though, you might end up hating it, coming from Mac OS X. While I think you might be happier with the repaired Macbook, the Acer is a more viable alternative, only for so long as you can live with Windows 8(.1).
