Hello everyone, have a metal detector with a broken female 3.5mm panel jack. the jack has 4 poles or posts on it with three wires going to it, white, red and blue. the blue wire is jumped between two poles. the metal detector has on onboard speaker that shuts off when headphones are plugged in. so i guess the question is, can i use a standard 3 pole jack? the blue wire with the jumped poles appears to be a ground.wanted to include a picture of it but, can't figure out how to do that. any help appreciated. Thanks!

Solution
DON'T KNOW.

The 4th pole maybe/maybe not hooked up to something, even though it doesn't seems to be in use. Am not feeling comfortable telling u do it anyway and then something breaks.
