Need help knowing if this headset will work

Hi, I want to buy this headset, the turtle beach PX22, and I am not sure if it will work, I have a samsung series 7 chronos laptop with windows 8.1. My main concern is that I have 1 jack that is an audio/mic jack. To hook up this headset you will need 1 jack and a USB, I have both of those. I am not sure because I have an audio/mic jack it will read it as just an audio jack? And please dont tell me to buy a splitter because I am not going to do that. I would rather get a different headset. Here is a picture of the side of the PC, take a look at the jack.

I've had a similar situation, a pair of Skullcandy earbuds with an integrated mic, used with my laptop which had a combined mic/audio port, and the mic worked fine. You should be good to go.

Out of curiosity, why no splitters?

I am 12 years old so I can not buy anything myself and we have bought so many splitters and returned them we are tired of them.
