I bought an HP G60-554CA computer 4 years back and it came with Windows 7 Home Premium x64.

I decided that I'd like to run XP Pro x86 because the computer is much quicker. The only problem is that I don't have a proper driver for my audio device.

The device is called Conexant High-Definition SmartAudio, and its hardware ID is HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5067&SUBSYS_103C360B&REV_1003.

Any help would be appreciated.

The audio driver here probably will work. http://ftp.us.dell.com/audio/R221865.exe

You may need to edit the AM3PE5a.inf file. To do that extract the files in the .exe to a temporary folder and open AM3PE5a.inf in the XP32 folder using Notepad. Add the following line to the [Conexant] section:
%HdAudioFunctionDriver.Pebble5071.DeviceDesc% = HdAudModel,HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5067&SUBSYS_103C360B

Save it then try the setup.exe again.

I installed the driver by editing the file. Thanks for the help.

I am having a little bit of an issue with it though. My mic won't work and if I let I leave it inactive and it sleeps the audio cuts out until I restart.
