Hey guys.
I was looking to invest in a laptop cooler for my 15.4'' SAGER NP8662 Laptop. I wanted to purchase a Zalman since they seem to get very good reviews but they all seem to be in the $50-70 range. I am looking to spend around $30-40 (including shipping) and was looking at a few different models. I will be using this almost exclusively on a desk.
1) This is the first I was looking at: Thermaltake Massive23 LX 230MM Fan
http/www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834991161&Tpk=thermaltake%20massive23%20lx
The only thing I was worried about with this one was the airflow, only 54.6 CFM. There were mixed reviews with this model, some loved it and some hated it. A lot of people complained about the poor airflow and stated this cooler was not strong enough to move a piece of notebook paper when set on top of the cooler and turned on.
2) Another model I was looking at was: Rosewill RNA 7700
http/www.amazon.com/Rosewill-Notebook-Silent-Cooling-RNA-7700/dp/B004D00SZA/ref=pd_sxp_f_pt
This one has nearly double the airflow at 100 CFM. The only problem with this is that there is a large gap in between the wrist rest and the laptop which may be uncomfortable, and the whole unit itself is quite bulky, which isn't much of a problem if its only being used on a desk.
3) Also the CoolerMaster Notepal U2/U3
http/www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-NotePal-Notebook-R9-NBC-8PCK-G/dp/tech-data/B003ZMF27G/ref=de_a_smtd
At only $15 for the U2 and just under $30 for the U3 The price is decent and the construction looks fairly solid, but I have heard "some" negative reviews that the fans were poor quality and didn't move a lot of air.
4) Cooler Master Notepal X2 Notebook Cooler R9-NBC-4WAK-GP
http/www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Notepal-Notebook-R9-NBC-4WAK-GP/dp/B002MU1ZRS/ref=sr_1_55?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1311288724&sr=1-55
...It's only 10 Bucks! But does it work? (Update: Price went from $9.99 to $22.99 in 1-2 days... wth?)
If you guys have any other suggestions for coolers that will fit within my price range that would be great. I would also appreciate reviews on ones I have posted, Thanks!
