Hi there! I'm trying to pick a new laptop for college that can fulfill academic as well as gaming needs. I don't play super high intensive games, mostly SC2, League and DOTA. Otherwise I use my laptop to watch videos, and play music. For academics, I just need to run basic Microsoft programs and browse internet. I have limited my interests to several different models and need help picking out the best. I prefer one that is 1)l ighter 2) longer battery life and 3) doesn't overheat. Thanks!

Samsung model is the ideal one if you are looking for Light & portable laptop with a decent battery backup. But if you need little more power then select Asus. I like all the models which've you listed but Lenovo Y510P is good but got bad reviews and many are saying that it overheats so I wouldn't want that.

Personally, I prefer Samsung then Asus but no to all the other models. Since you are using it for casual use I think any of these two should come in handy. Hope that helps.
