Need Help Recovering Reset Android Files

My dad recently factory reset his Galaxy Note 4, but did not realize he had an important video on his phone at the time. Now, I'm trying to help him get this video back, but I don't have the expertise. I am sure there is a way to recover this file, but when I try opening the phone in a disk image program it won't recognize it as a physical drive. I told him not to download any new apps or take any pictures to improve the chance of the file still being there.

I am asking you, the community, if there is any other way to recover his file.
