Can I Split one end of a 1/4 in TSR cable into a L & R wire to connect to Regular Stereo Speakers? I have a Presonus Studio 24c Audio Interface connecting via USB 3.0 to my PC which was built for my home studio. I was forced to sell my powered JBL's due to Covid, unemployment etc etc and need sound!! I tried a budget PC speaker set up with a mini subwoofer and 3/8 connector I'm sure you've all seen at the likes of Best buy and the sound sucks. I have two vintage floor speakers with the good old screws on the back for a L&R speaker wire. The Presonus only has 1/4 in outs so can I take a 1/4 in cable and split one end into 2 wires to connect to the back of my stereo speakers? Below is a link to my audio interface so you get an idea of what I have. Thanks!!

Solution
"Regular Stereo Speakers" meaning those without a built-in power amp? No you can't do that, you need a power amp to run non-powered speakers. You can connect the 1/4 audio out to an aux in on an amp then to the speakers.
