Solution

I'm pretty sure an R5 430 can't even beat integrated graphics it's a low end GPU and AMD is bad at making mobile GPUs, I guess they just don't care

Also, I prefer ASUS than HP for quality and support

Take the HP one. You won't be able to play properly with an Intel HD graphics. It's going to bottleneck your system.

If you can get discrete graphics for the same price as integrated, always choose discrete. Since then, you have two gpus (igpu + dgpu) and can choose the best one depending on the way you use it at a certain moment (igpu on battery, dgpu for light gaming). You'll be able to upgrade the RAM, but if you have only one dimm slot available (like the Asus states) you have to discard your old ram stick so its less efficient. Search on the HP website for the hardware maintenance model of this specific notebook and in the schematics you will see if there is one or two dimm slots.

You don't need more than 8 GB of memory. 16 GB is only useful for high-end PCs.
But if you still want to upgrade, yes you probably can.
