need help with desktop to tv

i was looking for some old files so i took my old desktop out of the box.i threw out the monitor a long time ago and i had a spare ledtv to use.i connected the desktop to the tv via vga,but i get no signal.(sorry i might've double posted)

Does your PC turns on at all? Do the keyboard' caps lock, num lock toggle?

nothing lights up on the keyboard

Which means that your PC does not power up, or does not POST (Power-On-Self-Test).
