Need help with downloading

My laptop was working fine with games, then the next day it said I need to update my flash player. My laptop wont let me. In fact it won't let me download anything. I have followed all the steps correctly. Is there something in the DOS that needs to be fixed?

Did you try booting into safe mode and uninstalling flash?
