Need help with GHz (laptop)

It has a base clock of 1.8ghz it will run at that speed or below when at idle or just browsing the web, when the processor does not have much to do. Its turbo speed is 3.2ghz so the speeds will rise between 1.8ghz and 3.2ghz when required and if temperatures allow, so if your playing a game that requires a lot of cpu power it may boost up to 3.2ghz automatically to give you a bit of extra performance but only if the processor is cool enough to allow it.
