I have a HP pavillion desk top that was bought just a few months ago. I purchased the logitech microphone/headset & plugged it in to the front of the computer (av jack) well I get sound through the headset just fine & can control it with the same volume control as the speakers. Well the microphone only works when plugged into the rear jack for microphones, also my computer will then recognize my device, but then the sound comes from the desktop speakers & I can here myself echoing through them, do I need a special adapter? or better upgraded headset?
PLEASE HELP,
MOMMA NEEDS TO GET PAID
(the headset is for my work at home job, I need to skpye & use a dialer daily)

headsets for pc need two cables plugged in.. the headphone and the microphone.
the front of most cases should have both.

does your case not have this? have you checked that your drivers for audio are installed correctly and that if you right click in the recording devices window that the device is not disabled or hidden?

attaching to the back will default to speakers but you can right click in default audio devices to change it back to headphones .
