Need help with my speaker setup

I will be the first to admit that I know nothing about stereo systems. I recently got a Marantz PM5005 amp and have been using it to listen to music from a turntable, CD and my computer. The problem is I just bought some OLi RA2 bookshelf speakers, because they were cheap and come well recommended, but I can't seem to get them to work. I am using the "A speakers" (I have also tried the B output) of my amp, and using these cables: (http/www.amazon.co.uk/Silverback-Speaker-Sewell-Banana-Terminated/dp/B00H22TU4G?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00). I have made sure they are connected to the correct + and - inputs, but I am getting no sound at all from the speakers. Does anybody have any suggestions, or will I need to post more info?

What speakers were you using before?
Hook these new ones up exactly the same way.

Pretty dumb of me guys, but I just had my amp in the wrong output mode. Thanks for your help anyway.
