Need help with speakers

Hey guys.I'm about to buy a new computer so I'm testing my speakers.I have one main big speaker and two small ones that connect to it.I pluged the speakers into my phone and when I play music or something it's fine but when it's quiet there's a static/sparkling noice coming out of the two small speakers.I'm pretty sure it's not the connection so what can be the problem?

pc speakers (cheap or old). can sometime not be shielded to well and can pick up wifi and other power noise and play it through the speakers. also on some pc with onboard sound how well the mb is grounded can play a fact if the mb eletrial noise is passed onto the sound chipset. if you can try pluggging them into another pc see if the issue follows the speakers. if it does it may be sign there power supply is getting old.
