Need java download

I've been trying to get on a website for work purposes. Unfortunately its saying i need the latest Java download to be able to access it.JAVA PLUG IN. it also tells me to contact my system administrator. What do i do? I've tried to download the latest Java but that doesn't seem to be working. Thanks

Are you able to post the link here? It sounds dodgy so I'd like to take a quick look. Also, can you tell us what web browser you are using? As some no longer allow Java to run in the browser, i.e. Google Chrome, I think Firefox and maybe even MS Edge no longer allow it either.

If it's a work laptop you likely dont have the proper permissions to install it and you need to contact your IT dept.
